Happy Easter! A long weekend awaits us, and we are looking forward to a few spring days off. Here you can find out what’s in store in Berlin from Good Friday to Easter Monday.

The Festtage der Staatsoper festival creates the perfect mood for an exciting long weekend in Berlin. Look forward to excellent musical theatre and concert performances!

If you are looking for an exciting children’s programme, you should definitely visit the Puppentheater Berlin. The puppet theatre will be presenting a magical Easter fairy tale.

Maundy Thursday or “Gründonnerstag” in German (“Green Thursday”), is really green! The waiting is finally over and the IGA Berlin 2017 is opening. The International Garden Exhibition beckons with thousands of fascinating flowers and plants … As well as the début of the cable car system.

This year, the 11th Easter Knight Festival takes place at the Zitadelle in Spandau. Families will be able to enjoy exciting tournaments between medieval knights, historical music and horse riding.

If you finally want to dance under the open sky again, then the Open Air Rave is the place to be!

15 April, from 14:00

Once it slowly starts getting dark in the evening, we eagerly await the numerous Easter fires taking place all over Berlin. You can enjoy the warmth of an Easter fire, amongst others, at the Britzer Garten, Spandau and Frohnau.

Easter Sunday

If you are looking for alternatives for your Easter brunch, a popular location can be found at the Breakfast Market in the Markthalle Neun.

We love cherry blossoms! For those who share this passion, the IGA Berlin 2017 will be holding a Cherry Blossom Festival on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, at which you will be able to see thousands of spring flowers.

And if you still haven’t had enough of cherry blossoms, there is also the Tree Blossom Festival in Britz until Monday.

Easter Monday

The Konzerthaus Berlin will be offering a musical programme on Monday. A wonderful organ matinee can be experienced here.

If you enjoy browsing, then the Easter markets in Berlin are perfect for you. For example, you can enjoy small delicacies, souvenirs and shows at Alexanderplatz or flower beds, live music as well as sweet and hearty treats at Breitscheidplatz.
