This weekend, we get to enjoy spring to its fullest and look ahead to sun (hopefully), flowers, and lots of many great events.
Every day’s a film festival in Berlin and this week Poland is taking the stage with both major productions and small discoveries. The festival also features a competition for the first time.
4.5.2017 to 10.5.2017
The green prince and the empress
This exhibition at Babelsberg Palace features the magnificent horticultural art of Prince Hermann Ludwig Heinrich von Pückler-Muskau who designed the palace gardens for the future Kaiser Wilhelm I and his wife Augusta. Afterwards, walk through the palace park’s terraces, fountains, and flower beds restored to Pückler’s design and enjoy the great views of the River Havel and Potsdam’s lakes.
Maria Sibylla Merian and the Tradition of Flower Illustration
If spring showers are keeping you indoors, then how about catching the flowers illustrated by scientist Maria Sibylla Merian? On display at the Kupferstichkabinett at the Kulturforum just west of Potsdamer Platz. There’s probably no better time than spring to look at these charming images of delicate flowers and then compare them to the real thing all over the city.
Kupferstichkabinett from 7.4.2017 to 2.7.2017
SYN / CUSSION Festival
Things will be a bit wilder at Radialsystem V when drums meet the laptop and percussion meets synthesizers. Percussion instruments and electronic sound artists will come together to develop an exciting new musical language.
